Design company LANDinc has revealed the final designs for Ontario Place's new public park in Toronto, Canada.

The project is led by LANDinc in collaboration with the domestic Ministry of Infrastructure, as well as Infrastructure Ontario.

The designer, which has executed other similar projects such as Trillium Park and the William G. Davis Trail, was chosen to lead the design for the Toronto public park in 2022.

LANDinc's designs are the result of an environmental assessment, community consultations, and involvement with rights-bearing First Nations and urban indigenous groups.

The park will feature new shoreline protection, flood mitigation, soil remediation and capping, and ecological enhancements.

The multidisciplinary team at LANDinc is stated to have focused on creating an accessible and inclusive space that encourages play, connection, and exploration.

The new park is divided into five distinct zones: Brigantine Cove, The Forum, The Mainland, The Marina, and The Water's Edge, each offering attractions and activities.

Brigantine Cove will feature a north-facing sand beach and a 3,400ft² Indigenous Cultural Pavilion, surrounded by native plantings.

The Forum will be the heart of the East Island, with a one-acre interactive fountain inspired by the trillium, Ontario's provincial flower.

The area will host markets, Indigenous pow-wows, and ice sculpture festivals. The Japanese Canadian Centennial Temple Bell will be reinstalled in a 'prominent' location within the park.

The Marina's upgraded landscape will include open-air pavilions and promenades, with future plans for enhanced boating amenities.

Lastly, The Water's Edge will feature a natural amphitheatre made from stones, with weights ranging from seven to 12 tonnes, offering views over Lake Ontario.

LANDinc senior principal Patrick Morello said: "LANDinc has been uniquely positioned to reimagine this iconic Toronto landmark, creating a world-class waterfront experience that seamlessly connects communities to their natural environment while honouring the rich legacy of the Ontario Place site.

"We are proud to be leading this legacy project and global destination that will enhance public access to green spaces, set new benchmarks for ecological preservation and leave a lasting impression, inspiring future generations through innovative, sustainable design.
