Jacobs has secured a contract to offer design, engineering, and environmental services for Boeing's significant expansion at its St. Louis, Missouri, campus in the US.

The project aims to nearly double Boeing’s regional manufacturing footprint with a 1.1 million square foot expansion, supporting advanced aircraft assembly and operations.

Site construction has commenced and is expected to be completed in phases, spanning from 2026 to 2030.

Jacobs executive vice-president Susannah Kerr said: "During the past two years, our ongoing collaboration with Boeing from design concept through construction and accelerating National Environmental Policy Act approvals in eight months, reflects Jacobs’ commitment to supporting national security and defence operations by providing critical facilities and infrastructure.

"This achievement - including the required demolition of an old facility - demonstrates our experience navigating complex design and environmental challenges.”

Boeing St. Louis site readiness vice-president Mark Webb said: “The largest investments Boeing is making in defence is in St. Louis.

“The new classified facilities will feature the greatest advancements in digital design and manufacturing the world has seen. Our St. Louis site will continue to grow in facilities and headcount for the next several years.”

Jacobs, with a workforce of around 45,000, offers services across various sectors, including advanced manufacturing, urban development, energy, environment, life sciences, transportation, and water management.

The company has a history of environmental compliance and architecture and engineering contracts with the US Navy and US Air Force.

Jacobs has provided services for the Architect of the Capitol, including energy and water services for the Library of Congress and coastal resilience solutions for Tyndall Air Force Base. Additionally, the company was the construction manager for the Los Angeles Federal Courthouse.

Last month, Jacobs secured a contract to upgrade the Rockland Water Treatment Plant and Caron Booster Station in Clarence-Rockland, Ontario, Canada.

This project is aimed at enhancing the water supply for the city's growing population and its surrounding municipalities.
