Chinese semiconductor manufacturer DMEGC Solar and Germany-based TÜV SÜD have signed a strategic cooperation agreement of carbon neutrality and zero-carbon factories.
The two parties are expected to use their respective expertise and experience in constructing zero-carbon factories and other components of comprehensive cooperation.
The partnership will soon see the commencement of the construction of a zero-carbon factory.
The parties intend to obtain certification for DMEGC's first zero-carbon factory in October this year and complete carbon inspections of all DMEGC module factories by the beginning of next year.
DMEGC is said to implement green and low-carbon concepts into its manufacturing practices frequently.
It recently launched a 100% 'Green Electricity' strategy across all its module production lines and has made considerable efforts towards low-carbon manufacturing by using local clean energy resources and utilising power generated from renewable sources.
The collaboration with TÜV SÜD is projected to accelerate development in optimising renewable resources across the sector, including energy efficiency management, optimised energy structure, and advances in photovoltaic (PV) technology research and development.
TÜV SÜD Greater China Smart Energy vice-president Hailiang Xu said: “As per standard systems like ISO 14064, PAS 2060, and Zero Carbon Factory Evaluation Specifications, TÜV SÜD will collaborate with DMEGC Solar throughout the entire process of factory planning and design, production equipment upgrades, process optimisation, and more.
“Our aim is to jointly develop a model of carbon neutralisation and [a] zero-carbon factory in the PV industry that will inject new impetus into the green transformation of the industry.”
