Construction work is progressing on a new 842,043ft² warehouse facility for use by a major aerospace manufacturer at South Air Depot Boulevard in Oklahoma, US.

This update was announced by US-based real estate business Seefried Properties and real estate investment manager Truist Securities.

The new complex, situated on land spanning 85 acres, has scope for an expansion to 942,000ft². It will also include a two-storey office space spanning 86,000ft².

Additionally, a 100,000ft² training area will be built near the facility in the future.

Seefried's development manager south central region Jaymie Bullard said: “We are proud to have been selected as Pratt & Whitney’s partner tasked with building a new home for their 500 Oklahoma City-based employees.

“It is an exciting project with a tremendous amount of engagement from Pratt & Whitney leadership. Truist Securities has, unsurprisingly, been a natural fit as the owner/landlord [of the property].

“This is Seefried/Truist Securities’ third Oklahoma City project together in consecutive years, so the trust and continuity are undeniably valuable.”

The new warehouse will be a depot support hub for Pratt & Whitney's military engines, which are maintained at the Tinker Air Force Base and other sites.

It is expected to bolster the company’s existing sustainment capacity in the city while merging six existing facilities into two sites, those two being the new Pratt & Whitney Oklahoma City complex and Tinker Air Force Base’s Air Logistics Complex.

The new structure will include tilt-up construction, 40ft clear heights, spacious concrete truck courts, 103 trailer spaces, 120 potential dock-high doors, and six grade-level doors.

Expected to be complete in the second quarter of 2024, it will also feature 515 parking slots, including electrical vehicle charging stations.

Layton Construction will serve as the general contractor for the project, with Olsson Engineering as its civil engineer.

Meanwhile, Texas-based Pross Design Group will be the architect of record.
