Bauer Technologies has been contracted to deliver specialist piling and geotechnical works for a 24-storey mixed-use development, The Dovetail Building, in London.

Construction company Deconstruct UK appointed Bauer Technologies for this contract, acting on behalf of client Brockton Everlast.

The Dovetail Building is set to expand office and retail capacity within central London as part of ongoing investment in the area.

The project features a three-level basement and a tower designed to meet current sustainability requirements.

Under the contract, Bauer will deliver the works in two phases to support archaeological investigations by the Museum of London Archaeology.

During the first phase, set to run between last month and February 2026, Bauer will remove existing piles and install most of the new secant wall.

The second phase will occur from June to September 2026 and will focus on installing a cased CFA secant pile line along the party boundary and completing the foundation and bearing piles.

Temporary works will also be carried out for tower cranes and gantry during this stage.

Bauer Technologies said measures to reduce carbon emissions form part of its approach for this project.

All site plants will operate using hydrotreated vegetable oil fuel while concrete mixes will use blended cement supplied locally.

Low-carbon reinforcement steel is specified for the works, along with waste-reduction practices to limit environmental impact and increase material efficiency throughout construction.

Bauer Technologies managing director John Theos said: “We are delighted to be working once again with Deconstruct UK on such a high-profile London development.

“The Dovetail Building exemplifies the type of technically challenging, sustainability-driven project where Bauer’s experience in complex urban settings and commitment to innovation can make a real difference.

"It’s a showcase for how deep foundation solutions can be delivered responsibly, efficiently, and in harmony with the capital’s built environment.”

Bauer Technologies operates as the fully owned UK subsidiary of Bauer Spezialtiefbau, a construction company headquartered in Schrobenhausen, Germany, that focuses on specialist foundation works.

ZÜBLIN Spezialtiefbau, a STRABAG subsidiary, acquired Bauer Spezialtiefbau (Austria) in May this year for an undisclosed sum.
