ZÜBLIN, a subsidiary of construction group STRABAG, has commenced construction of a new shipbuilding facility and a seven-storey office building in Kieler Förde, Germany, for ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems.

The new project is part of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems’ expansion plans to increase its production capacities in submarine construction from mid-2023.

A joint venture between ZÜBLIN Stuttgart, the structural engineering firm, and ZÜBLIN North, Civil Engineering and Port Construction, is constructing the new 15,390m² facility.

The new building includes seven production halls for submarine sections, separated by concrete and fire walls, along with adjoining administrative building featuring offices, social rooms and a canteen distributed over seven floors.

Ed. Züblin’s Zentrale Technik is also providing support in the construction design for the new project.
Construction work ofthe new building is scheduled to be completed and handed over for use at the end of June 2023.

Recently, the construction group secured €77m contract to upgrade 67-expressway in Hungary.

The project is to expand the existing section of the Látrány bypass on the 67-expressway into two lanes in each direction.

It involves construction of eight bridges, two wildlife corridors and a turbo-roundabout at the junction with the M7.
