Finnish contractor YIT, as part of an alliance, has signed an agreement with the Lapland Hospital District Joint Municipal Authority in Finland on the implementation phase of the psychiatric hospital which has been included in the expansion project of Lapland Central Hospital.

The expansion project will be implemented through an alliance model.

The development phase of the project had started earlier this year.

The psychiatric hospital will be of approximately 5,500m2, and the Lapland Central Hospital building will be approximately 28,300m2.

This project is expected to be completed in January 2023.

The hospital will consist of a general hospital and a psychiatric hospital. A space of 2,800m2 will also be renovated.

In addition to YIT acting in the role of a supervisor of the project, the alliance also includes ARE which will be responsible for technical building systems, Verstas Architects, and a special engineering group that consists of Granlund Group, WSP Finland and L2 Fire Safety.

Prodeco Oy Lappi and A-Insinöörit Oy, which are outside the alliance, will serve as construction consultants.
