Caddick Construction has commenced work at the £11.5m affordable housing scheme in Ferrars Road, Tinsley, Sheffield, UK.

Backed by funding from Homes England, the six-acre development will be owned and managed by Together Housing Group upon completion.

Featuring landscaped open space with ponds and public art, the scheme will include 93 homes – four four-bedroom dwellings, 19 two-bedroom houses, and 70 three-bedroom houses.

Caddick Construction housing director Richard Greenwood said: “We are delighted to be working with Together Housing again on a scheme that is bringing much-needed affordable housing to the Sheffield region.

“The housing market is extremely competitive in South Yorkshire at the moment and for some people getting their first home or a foot on the property ladder can feel impossible.

“Ferrars Road will help to deliver high quality housing for this market, which will include key workers and low-income families, allowing them to put down permanent roots in the area.”

The first phase of homes is planned to be released to new residents in the third quarter of 2022. The scheme is planned to be completed in 2023.

Designed by Watson Batty Architects, the new homes will feature traditional architectural elements externally. It is characterised with energy efficient, modern interiors.

Together Housing is one of the strategic partners of Home England to receive £61.2m to help deliver additional affordable home of 1,331 under the Wave 2 funding programme.

As a strategic partner, Together Housing will benefit from a range of support from across Homes England.
