
Wates Construction has received a contract, worth £140m, to deliver the 4 Glass Wharf workspace scheme in Bristol, UK.
The eight-storey, 19,695m2 scheme will comprise an events space, fitness facilities, ground floor café with outdoor space, and landscaped terraces.
It is backed by a joint venture of developer Candour and the EPISO 5, a fund managed by Tristan Capital Partners.
An affiliate of Apollo Global Management provided debt funding for the project, which is planned for completion in 2023.
Candour co-founder Toby Pentecost said: “Working in partnership with Tristan Capital Partners and supported by Apollo, we are committed to setting an example in sustainable development and delivering outstanding workspace for Bristol City Centre.We are already seeing significant interest from occupiers.”
Work is currently underway on the 4 Glass Wharf site.

By GlobalDataEarlier, the construction firm built the 2 and 3 Glass Wharf in Temple Quarter for Salmon Harvester Properties.
The 3 Glass Wharf is located adjacent to Temple Meads train station, overlooking Bristol city centre’s floating harbour within the Temple Quarter Enterprise zone.
The latest development forms part of Bristol City Council’s Temple Quarter project, which aims to regenerate a 100ha land around Temple Meads station with housing, shops and hospitality outlets.
In September 2021, Wates Group started construction on some of the UK’s first net-zero schools, as part of the US Department for Education’s (DfE) ten-year Schools Rebuilding Programme.
The schools include Whitworth Community High School, Lytham St Annes High School, and Littleborough Community Primary School and Nursery.
