VINCI Energies has agreed to acquire Zimmer & Hälbig, a Bielefeld-based company in Germany, pending approval from the German competition authorities.

Zimmer & Hälbig specialises in the design, engineering, installation, and maintenance of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration systems, focusing on hospitals, laboratories, industrial facilities, clean rooms, and data centres.

Established in 1974, the company reported a revenue of €96m ($111.05m) in 2024, operating from seven locations in Germany with 310 employees.

The acquisition will integrate Zimmer & Hälbig into VINCI Energies Building Solutions’ network of 150 business units in Germany, enhancing its multi-technical solutions for buildings and broadening its service offerings.

VINCI Energies, a key player in Germany, employs 16,600 people across 385 locations, operating in sectors such as infrastructure, industry, building solutions, and ICT.

In 2024, the VINCI Group achieved a revenue of nearly €5.6bn in Germany, the company’s second-largest international market. This comprised €4.1bn from energy solutions and €1.4bn from construction activities.

Additionally, VINCI Concessions manages highway infrastructure and electric vehicle charging projects in Germany.

In a separate transaction, VINCI Energies has agreed to acquire the EnergoBit group, an electrical infrastructure company based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

The acquisition aligns with Romania’s growing needs for energy transition and infrastructure modernisation. EnergoBit is known for its engineering and installation of electrical substations, transmission and distribution lines, and network monitoring and automation.

The company also assembles transformers and medium-voltage switchgear, offering solutions to public and private clients. The move will expand the VINCI Energies subsidiary Omexom’s presence in Romania and bolster VINCI Energies’ position in the country, where it has been active since 2007, employing 1,500 people.

In 2024, VINCI Group’s operations in Romania generated over €200m in revenue, primarily through VINCI Energies with more than €150m and VINCI Construction with nearly €50m.
