Veidekke has won a contract from Signaturhagen Bolig and Boligbyggelaget TOBB to construct a 72-apartment housing project in the centre of Stjørdal in Norway.

This design and build contract carries a value of $23.69m (NOK245m) excluding VAT.

The housing project comprises three buildings of five floors.

The 72 apartments differ in size from 42 m2 to 109m2.

Its ground floor will serve as commercial site, with common car and bicycle parking space being allocated downstairs.

The apartment complex will feature common zones including a warm tropical garden, a common lounge, a fitness room with sauna and a separate guest apartment.

Veidekke Bygg Trøndelag regional director Torgeir Wiig said: “We thank Signaturhagen Bolig and TOBB for the assignment, and now we look forward to getting started on the construction work. The project will be carried out by Veidekke and our subsidiary Grande Entreprenør, along with other local partners.”

Demolition work on the site is underway with construction work set to commence in October.

Occupancy of the apartment units will begin in the summer of 2024.

Earlier in June, Veidekke won a design and build contract from Nordr and Selvaag Bolig to build the first stage of a residential project in eastern Oslo, Norway.

The first stage consisted of 91 environmentally certified apartments as well as underground parking for the Lille Løren Park project.

The value of this contract was $23.24m (NOK235m), excluding VAT.
