Veidekke has won a contract from Nordr and Selvaag Bolig to construct the first stage of a residential project in eastern Oslo, Norway.

The first stage comprises 91 environmentally-certified apartments and underground parking for the Lille Løren Park project.

This design and build contract is valued at $23.24m (NOK235m), excluding VAT.

Veidekke Bygg Oslo director Anders W Haugen said: “We really appreciate the commission. This is an interesting project that we have been a part of developing since its inception, just as we prefer in order to create excellent projects in partnership with our customers. The fact that the homes will be environmentally certified is also something we really appreciate as the executing contractor.”

A pleasant village in the middle of Oslo, Løren is a new and planned city district that has evolved from an earlier industrial area and military camp.

The first 91 homes will vary in size, with one-room apartments featuring 40m2 area and five-room apartments of 110m2.

To be built in an elevated site with good sun and light conditions, Lille Løren Park will be adjacent to city park.

Selvaag Bolig vice president Øystein Klungland said: “We have had a good partnership with Veidekke on several projects and are pleased that they will be building for us here too. Selvaag Bolig has built more than two thousand homes at Løren since the year 2000, and Lille Løren Park will be one of the final projects in the new city district.”

Construction will commence after summer this year, with occupation set for the summer of 2024.

Veidekke has included this contract for the second quarter.
