The project includes residential units, office space and commercial facilities, and is planned as part of the continued transformation of Storo into a modern urban district.

The contract was signed by Veidekke group chief executive Jimmy Bengtsson and Thon Gruppen group CEO Kjetil Nilsen.

Demolition of existing buildings on the site is scheduled to start in November, with construction work expected to begin in April 2027.

Completion of the project is anticipated for August 2029.

The development at Vitaminveien 6 will consist of a seven-storey office building facing the main street, a seven-storey residential building to the west, and a commercial podium linking the two structures.

The total gross floor area is about 30,000m². The design includes parking spaces and retail premises within the podium, 98 rental apartments in the residential section and about 5,200m² of office space.

A rooftop garden and landscaped areas on top of the podium will offer shared outdoor space for residents and office tenants, while additional green areas are planned at ground level.

The office component of the development is set to achieve BREEAM Excellent certification and hold an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rated Class A.

Nilsen said: “We are developing this property with a long-term ownership and management perspective, and that influences the choices we make from the outset. This applies to everything from the energy solutions to the rooftop garden that will be shared by residents and office tenants.

“With Veidekke, we gain a partner with extensive experience from demanding and complex developments.”

According to Veidekke, the project’s combination of residential, office and commercial facilities aligns with its expertise in handling large and complex construction work.

Bengtsson said: “This is a large and exciting project that we are delighted to deliver together with Thon Gruppen.

“Vitaminveien 6 combines residential, office and commercial space in a single development and is an excellent match for our expertise in large and complex construction projects. We look forward to a strong partnership and to contributing to the continued development of Storo.”

The new office space will comprise approximately 333 workplaces and is planned for occupation in the second quarter of 2029.

The Storo district is recognised for its convenient access to public transport, including metro, bus and train services, and a tram network, supporting the location’s appeal for both businesses and residents.

In April 2026, Veidekke signed a Nkr5.4bn ($564m) design and build contract with the Norwegian Public Roads Administration for the second phase of the E134 Oslofjord Connection, linking Frogn and Asker in Akershus.
