SRV and the City of Helsinki have reached an agreement to expand the Myllypuro Health and Well-being Centre building in Helsinki, Finland.

The project is valued at approximately €57m ($61.82m) and will be included in SRV’s order backlog for this month.
It entails expanding the health and well-being centre, which was constructed in Myllypuro in 2012.
Upon completion of the extension, the Myllypuro site will house healthcare services along with laboratory and imaging services catering to the Myllypuro, Kontula, and Kivikko districts.
Additionally, it will feature café and restaurant spaces.
The development phase of the project is set to commence shortly and will last for one year, with construction expected to start in early 2025.

By GlobalDataSRV will collaborate with the users of the premises to develop design and engineering solutions that align with the project’s life cycle goals and the features of the site.
As part of the project, a new five-storey building with approximately 14,000 gross square metres will be constructed over the city’s metro line, north of the existing health centre.
The ground floor will feature a metro station entrance and ticket hall, and the current parking garage will be expanded beneath the new section.
The health centre’s operations will continue with minimal disruption during the construction phase.
The project will be carried out in two stages.
The first phase includes the construction of the extension while the second phase involves building the main lobby, walkways, and modifications to the old section’s premises.
This approach is designed to minimise relocations and interruptions to the centre’s services.
The design and construction of the Myllypuro Health and Well-being Centre will support the Carbon-neutral Helsinki initiative.
Additionally, the building will use local renewable energy sources such as heat pumps and solar panels, with air/water heat pumps serving as the primary heating source.
Construction is anticipated to be completed by 2027, with the extension expected to be operational in 2028.
Earlier this month, SRV agreed to construct a new multipurpose building in Suutarila in the country under a life cycle model.
