Skanska has secured planning approval to commence work on £507m the A428 Black Cat to Caxton Gibbet dualling scheme in UK.
The company will construct a 16km dual carriageway between the Black Cat roundabout at St Neots and Caxton Gibbet.

Construction will commence at the end of this year, with the road opening scheduled for 2026, reported Construction Enquirer.
The A428 between St Neots and Caxton Gibbet is a single carriageway running between M1 near Milton Keynes and Cambridge.
Several junction improvements will be carried out, including a new three-tier junction at the Black Cat roundabout, thereby enabling traffic to freely flow onto the A1 and the new carriageway.

Furthermore, the project will bridge the missing link of dual carriageway on the road network between Milton Keynes and Cambridge. This will aid drivers to save up to an hour-and-a-half on their travel every week.
