A Rohas Tecnic-led consortium has accepted the letter of acceptance (LOA) for the Malaysian section of the Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link Project between Johor Bahru in the country and Singapore.
The LoA issued by Malaysia RTS, a subsidiary of Mass Rapid Transit Corporation, was signed on 8 January 2024.
It involves the construction and completion of Bukit Chagar Station’s facade, the RTS Link Project Package 8.
The consortium, consisting of RohasEuco Industries (REI) and Sediabena Builders (SBSB), was established following an agreement on 20 October 2023 to bid for this project.
REI and SBSB are both involved in the design and fabrication of the project’s steel structures.
With the contract now secured, the two companies will formalise their partnership through a joint venture (JV) agreement, proposing an equity ratio of 70% for REI and 30% for SBSB.

The completion date for the RTS Link Project Package 8 is set for 31 May 2025.
The RTS Link Project is a railway connection that spans approximately 4km and has two stations, one in Bukit Chagar, Malaysia, and another in Woodlands, Singapore.
The modern Light Rail Transit system aims to offer a fast and efficient transportation option with high capacity.
The connection will be merged with public transportation systems at both stations, offering another form of transportation that will ease traffic at immigration points for both countries.
With a capacity of 10,000 passengers per hour, per direction, it anticipates around 40,000 daily riders upon opening.
