Indian engineering and construction firm Power Mech Projects has secured letters of award for contracts valued at INR7.34bn ($136m).

In the regulatory filing, the company stated that it secured an order valued at INR4.01bn ($74.26m) for operation and maintenance of boilers & auxiliaries and other works at 4 x 660 MW Jharsuguda Thermal Power Plant of Vedanta.

The firm has also won another order of INR1.98bn for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) works for Kurmitar Iron Ore Mining Private Limited in Odisha.

Furthermore, the company secured another order worth INR1.35bn to carry out civil, architectural and structural works of the main plant for 2X660MW Khurja STPP for BHEL at Khurja, Uttar Pradesh.

Last month, the Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) Business of Indian construction firm Larsen & Toubro (L&T) secured a bunch of orders from a range of offerings.

 The construction company classified the orders as ‘Large’, which is worth between INR25bn ($344.5m) and INR50bn ($689m).

 The business unit was awarded two engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) orders to establish more than 400MW Solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in the Indian state of Gujarat.

 Under the contract, L&T’s business unit will be responsible for the design, engineering, supply, construction, testing, commissioning as well as the operation and maintenance of the grid connected solar PV projects of about 200MW each.

 In Rajasthan, a project specific transmission company awarded a 765kV Double Circuit Transmission Line package to Power Transmission & Distribution Business.
