Peab has secured a turnkey contract to construct a new swimming pool block for customer Partillebo in Partille Municipality, Sweden.

The contract is worth Skr1.3bn ($124.37m) and also involves project planning.

It entails the construction of a new 10,000m² swimming pool facility, 11,000m² of residential apartments, 4,000m² of commercial space, and more in the borough of Partille Port.

Peab region manager Liselott Bergkvist said: “I’m so pleased and proud that Peab can continue to develop Partille, this time together with Partillebo.

“Building a swimming pool facility is a significant community investment and it will be an important place for both training and relaxation.”

The swimming pool facility will feature an exercise pool, two multi-pools with adjustable bottoms, and a family pool with a waterslide.

Additionally, it will have a separate 1,000m² relaxation section with a wellness area.

Peab will also construct 95 rental apartments within the swimming pool block.

Adjacent to the swimming pool block, a parking garage will be constructed both next to and beneath the building.

This placement of the facility next to Partille Arena is part of a broader initiative to enhance the area, an effort that commenced in 2012.

The swimming pool facility and parking garage will be powered by solar energy.

The new facility is expected to bolster Partille’s status as a sports city in Sweden.

It is intended to offer facilities for a wide range of sports associations and serve as a communal hub for residents and workers.

The project will be order-registered in the first quarter (Q1) of 2024.

Last week, Peab received a turnkey contract to construct a new building for Langhaugen High School in Bergen, Norway.
