Skanska has secured a $63m contract with Johns Hopkins Medicine All Children’s Hospital to build a research and education facility on the hospital’s campus in Florida, US.

This will be included in the order bookings of Skanska USA Building in the first quarter of this year.

Construction work has commenced and the completion of the building is expected in March 2018.

The new 21,000ft² facility will have research and laboratory spaces, as well as an educational space that includes an auditorium with a seating capacity for 400 people.

The building will also include collaboration and office areas, and a biorepository.

Earlier this month, Skanska secured a $140m contract with Westchester Medical Center in New York for the construction of new Ambulatory Care Pavilion on the existing hospital campus.

According to this contract, Skanska will build a 26,000m², eight-storey Ambulatory Care Pavilion, which will feature a new ambulatory operating room suite, imaging centre, lobby, physician office space, entry canopy for patient drop-off, and new rooftop mechanical, electrical and plumbing units.

The firm will also build the interior spaces and expand the existing parking lot.

Construction of the pavilion is expected to commence in June and slated for completion in September 2018.
