Newbury Racecourse in Berkshire, UK has submitted detailed planning proposals for infrastructure improvements worth £20m as a part of its ongoing development project.
David Wilson Homes has completed the development of over 200 homes on the western site of the racecourse estate as a part of the first phase residential development at the site.

The next phase of residential development in the central area includes plans to build 360 apartments, construction for which is expected to start later this year.
Costs for infrastructure improvements at the racecourse were estimated to be £13.5m initially. It has been revised to £20m to improve its commercial prospects.
Under the expanded proposal, the site is likely to have a new reception, bar and dining facilities, parade ring, and refurbished Berkshire Stand and Pall Mall building, which will facilitate both race-goers and conference customers.
Once the planning consent is granted, the first phase of the infrastructure development is expected to start from January next year. It is likely to be completed within two years ,and involve approximately £13.5m.
The initially approved plans for Newbury Racecourse included outlines for a 120-bedroom four-star hotel as well. However, there are no plans to initiate work for that part of the project.
