Dania Pointe is to enter Phase I groundbreaking after demolition and clearing of the 102 acre site is completed.

Located in the Greater Fort Lauderdale area, the mixed-use lifestyle centre will be a ten minute drive from the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Port Everglades, as well as 20 minutes from the communities of Weston and Plantation to the west.

"We are aiming to maximise the potential of Dania Pointe’s prime location by creating an exciting experience that will appeal to every type of consumer."

Replacing an old wooden roller coaster and amusement park, the new development will include more than 100 retail spaces and restaurants, with up to 500,000ft2 of Class A office space, 1,000 luxury rental apartments and condominiums, and two signature hotels.

The project's developer Kimco Realty's southern region president Paul Puma said: “By turning shopping ‘inside-out’ in an open-air environment, we are aiming to maximise the potential of Dania Pointe’s prime location by creating an exciting experience that will appeal to every type of consumer.

“That means more than just shopping; Dania Pointe will offer a fully immersive environment, one that touches every part of our day, whether it’s working, living, shopping, eating, visiting from out of town, or just being entertained.”
