The south-west division of Balfour Beatty Construction has completed the $76.2m, 22-storey Sunset and Gordon residential apartment building in Los Angeles.
The luxury high-rise building has been built for CIM Group real estate and infrastructure investment company.

As part of the project, Balfour Beatty has provided the design assistance leveraging its cast-in-place technology to lower project costs from the previous estimate of $98m.
Designed by GBD Architects, the mixed-use, 547,500ft² tower is located on 1.7 acres at the north-east corner of Sunset Boulevard and Gordon Street in Hollywood, offering 299 rental units above 36,688ft² of office space, 12,229ft² of retail and restaurant space, and a parking garage with 523 spaces.
The tower also features commercial space on the third and fourth floors, and rental units on floors five through 22.
Sunset and Gordon will include a pool deck on the fifth floor, a media room and a fitness centre.
Balfour Beatty Construction senior vice-president and project executive Joe Martino said: "We’re pleased to announce the completion of this unique, high-density residential project in which our design-assist team went to great lengths to preserve a piece of history in partnership with CIM Group.
"The project features a re-creation of the original 1920s Spanish-style architecture facades along Sunset Boulevard and a portion of its Gordon Street frontage."
Complete re-design of the structure’s mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems and Balfour Beatty’s expertise in cast-in-place structures contributed to the project’s cost savings.
