Swedish construction firm NCC has secured a design-build contract worth about SEK750m ($80m) from Fabege to construct a new office building in Solna, Sweden.

Located next to Arenastaden, the building covers an area of 35,000m². The project, known as Kvarter Poolen, covers the construction of new an office building that will serve as TietoEVRY’s new Swedish office spread over 10 floors.

Fabege projects and development director Klas Holmgren said: “We are extremely pleased to continue our good collaboration with NCC in the Arenastaden district.

“Last year, we realised ICA’s vision for its new head office and won the BREEAM Building of the Year award, so we are looking forward now to working further together on a new, unique office for TietoEVRY.”

A public swimming pool will be built under a separate contract. The swimming pool will be managed by Solna Municipality.  The roof will be covered by solar panels and also feature green spaces.

The office building will receive BREEAM Excellent standard certification. Construction on the office development will commence immediately and will be completed in March 2022.

The value of the contract will be booked in the second quarter of 2020 in the NCC Building Sweden business area.

Earlier, the Swedish construction firm secured construction contracts for foundation engineering work for Solna Municipality.
