Swedish construction company NCC has partnered with Taaleri Real Estate Fund to build three new apartment blocks in Espoonlahti, outside Helsinki, Finland.

The firms are planning to invest €41m to deliver the 18 new apartments of various sizes in the region.

NCC Building Finland Helsinki area residential production head Tuomas Tonteri said: “The seaside area of Espoonlahti is in the process of being transformed into a modern urban centre, where services are close at hand for the inhabitants and there is easy access to public transport.

“NCC has already transformed an office building into a care home in this area and we are pleased to be able to continue to construct housing to its future inhabitants.”

The first of the three new blocks in Espoonlahti is planned for commissioning in 2021.

Taaleri Real Estate Fund project development manager Markus Halkola said: “The project’s development phase has taken a number of years and has required in-depth expertise.

Espoonlahti area in Finland is undergoing extensive development plan, to include a new metro station and the new Lippulaiva shopping centre.

The shopping centre, which will have an area of 44,000m², will mainly include groceries, with nearly 80 different stores and services are expected to be available.

Expected to become a centre for local services in the greater Espoonlahti area, the new Lippulaiva shopping centre will be home to extensive grocery offering such as Prisma, K-Supermarket, Lidl, Tokmanni and Alko.

Additionally, the shopping centre will include a wide range of cafés and restaurants, public services and other amenities for smoother living.
