L&T Construction, the construction subsidiary of Indian conglomerate Larsen & Toubro (L&T), has secured a contract from the Government of Odisha, India to build clinical blocks and allied infrastructure for an advanced hospital in Cuttack.

The construction company has classified the contract as ‘large’, which means contract could worth between INR25bn ($329m) and INR50bn ($658m).

The company stated that the duration of the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) project is 30 months.

Its Buildings & Factories business unit will construct four clinical blocks (B+G+9 floors) comprising composite structural systems as well as other ancillary buildings.

The facility will have a total of 2,058 beds. It will cover speciality departments such as Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Cardiology, Casualty, Neurology, Endocrinology, trauma, Hematology, Hepatology, Surgical blocks, as well as general surgery.
