UK-based construction firm Laing O’Rourke has announced that the construction on first phase of Everton’s new stadium will commence on 26 July.

The football club confirmed that it will take ownership of the Bramley-Moore Dock site, which is part of Peel L&P’s Liverpool Waters, on the same day, enabling the contractor to commence first phase of the project.

The initial phase will involve the enabling works to prepare the dock site for the construction of new stadium.

Work on the project will involve stabilising the hydraulic tower on the project site, repair and preservation of the Grade II listed dock wall and preparation for demolition of existing non-listed structures.

Development of welfare facilities for Laing O’Rourke construction team, raking of the dock floor and installation of pipework for the infilling of the dock will also be included.

The construction firm will commence the process of infilling the dock upon completion of the these works at the project site.
