Real estate developer JPI has commenced construction on a new 296-unit residential development in Monrovia, California, US.

Named Jefferson Monrovia, this five-storey, wrap-style, multifamily property will provide studio, one-, and two-bedroom floor plans.

Apartments will feature private terraces and balconies and be equipped with amenities such as stainless-steel appliances, gas stoves, quartz countertops, and more.

Other on-site facilities will include a clubroom, fitness centre, resort-style pool and spa, co-working lounge, game room, rooftop deck, and firepits.

JPI regional development partner and senior vice-president Sunti Kumjim said: “There is so much opportunity in Monrovia and we’re thrilled to bring much-needed housing to this growing market.

“Jefferson Monrovia will not only provide residents a place to call home, but convenient access to employment and entertainment centres in the area.”

The company expects the first occupancies to take place in early 2025.

Residents at Jefferson Monrovia will have easy access to Monrovia Canyon Park, Westfield Santa Anita, Old Town Monrovia, Santa Anita Park, and more.

The development is also located near the Monrovia metro station, which provides easy access to Downtown Pasadena and Los Angeles.

Monrovia city manager Dylan Feik said: “The City of Monrovia is so pleased to welcome JPI as a development partner in Monrovia.

“This project will not only bring needed housing to a region in a housing crisis, but this project will also expand resident access to the Metro A Line. We are so thrilled to partner in a project that benefits the city, the community, and JPI.”

California-based architect CA Architects is working on this project alongside other local partners PBA Engineering and Fuscoe Engineering.

Last month, JPI commenced construction on another housing project, named The Exchange, at Riverside, also located in California.
