United Bank and UB Community Development have provided $4m funding to Gulf Coast Housing Partnership (GCHP) for the construction of Country Ridge Estates in Opelousas, Louisiana, the US.

The Country Ridge Estates is a new multifamily affordable-rental housing development and includes 32-units across eight residential buildings each comprising four apartments in a town home style layout.

The apartments will be a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom units all designated for low to moderate income individuals and families.

UB Community Development stated that a part of the project’s 32-units will be reserved for persons with disabilities and single parent families.

The development will include community building, walking trail, a playground, exercise and picnic area, and community garden. It is situated in close proximity to hospital, a grocery store, public library, school, and fire station.

The Country Ridge Estates will be developed by GCHP in collaboration with Le Centre Evangeline.
