Galliford Try’s Building business has been awarded a new £23m contract to build a 436-room student accommodation facility in Coventry, the UK.

The facility on Albany Road will be constructed for developer Cassidy Group.

This is the third such project being delivered by Galliford Try’s Building East Midlands business at Coventry.

The project will feature 55 student clusters and an equal number of self-contained students apartments in buildings ranging up to six storeys.

This accommodation facility is intended to cater to students of Warwick and Coventry universities.

The scheme will feature a new community space for local residents as part of the external landscaping.

The facility has been designed in a way to reflect the local setting, which also includes The New Albany public house, and will help in the regeneration of the local area.

Once the project is constructed, it is expected that students will occupy less of the local family housing.

Galliford Try Building East Midlands managing director Jon Marston said: “We have an excellent track record in delivering high-quality student accommodation around the country but particularly in Coventry. We look forward to working with the Cassidy Group to add to this portfolio and create a fantastic new facility for students and local residents alike.”
