Countryside Partnerships, a division of Vistry Group, has been appointed by Sovereign Network Group (SNG) as the main contractor for the Merrick Place development in Ealing, England, UK.

The £157m ($199.77m) project will include the construction of 575 new homes and commercial units on a former light industrial site, adjacent to the Southall railway station.

The project has been designed by architect Cartwright Pickard and will consist of buildings ranging from 15 to 23 storeys and will be implemented as a car-free zone.

It will have 926 bicycle parking spaces and two servicing bays.

SNG London and Herts Development executive director David Gooch said: “The Merrick Place project in Southall is a flagship scheme within SNG’s London New Homes Programme.”

Grainger is set to forward fund the construction of 401 homes across three blocks, which will be managed as a dedicated build-to-rent development.

SNG will maintain ownership of the 22-storey building within the development, which is dedicated to providing affordable housing.

Specifically, this building will offer 42 homes at London affordable rent and 132 homes available for shared ownership.

The wider scheme will include 2,100m² of office space and 318m² of flexible commercial space, designed for local businesses and stimulating job creation.

In addition, the development will feature communal gardens and public spaces along Merrick Road.

The site will also offer landscaped areas, play spaces, and amenities.

Vistry CEO Greg Fitzgerald said: “We are delighted to be appointed on this fantastic new development in Ealing, working with one of our established partners.

“Not only are we bringing forward 575 much‐needed new mixed‐tenure homes for the local community, but the scheme is also facilitating new job and apprenticeship opportunities for local residents.”

This comes after Vistry’s selection to construct 140 new homes in Lockleaze, Bristol, earlier this month.
