Northern Lights Arena Europe Limited (NLAE) and Dundee City Council have signed an 18-month agreement that will allow NLAE to take forward the design concepts for the 4,000-seat arena and esports academy on Dundee’s Waterfront in the UK.

To be situated near the V&A Dundee next to the Tay Road Bridge, the arena will offer educational, economic, entertainment and employment opportunities for Dundee.

Furthermore, it would feature an esports academy for further and higher education as well as conventional leisure, indoor sporting events, retail and live/workspace.

NLAE and Abertay University are already working closely to maximise the educational benefits of the project.

The university, as part of the project, aims to develop several degree courses associated with the global e-sports job market, enabling the students to gain access to facilities within the arena complex.

Dundee & Angus College, the local college partner of Abertay University, would also be part of the project.
