Property company Catena is set to build a new logistics facility at the Ättekulla area in Helsingborg, Sweden.

Entailing an investment of around $15.1m (SEK132m), the facility will be built for PostNord TPL and cover an area of 16,478 sqm.

It will be constructed on Catena’s existing land at the Bunkagården Mellersta 1 property.

This land is adjacent to the Bunkagården Mellersta 2 property, where PostNord is a tenant of Catena.

In this regard, a ten-year agreement has been reached with PostNord TPL.

The new facility will be certified as per the Miljöbyggnad Silver environmental construction standard, with a photovoltaic cell facility on the roof.

Plans are also on to extend the existing lease agreement for the neighbouring property and the installation of a photovoltaic system there.

Besides, the new facility will share marshalling yards and parking spaces with the current facility.

PostNord TPL regional manager Håkan Lindberg said: “We already know that this is an excellent location and it feels good to continue working with a well-known and committed player like Catena as we now seek to further increase our already high capacity in the region and continue to be the largest TPL operator in the Nordic region.”

Construction work is expected to start in the third quarter of this year. PostNord TPL looks to shift to the property in autumn 2022.

Catena regional manager for Helsingborg Göran Jönsson said: “Our properties constitute important nodes in PostNord’s logistics network, and the new facility further strengthens that relationship.”

Currently, Catena leases slightly over 75,000 sqm of logistics space to PostNord in Helsingborg alone.
