France-based multinational Capgemini has announced plans to develop a new 500-seat office in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City in India.

Capgemini also revealed that it is upgrading its infrastructure at its Talwade campus in the Indian city of Pune. This work will greatly extend the site once complete.

The company reiterated its commitment to establishing innovation centres and infrastructure in the country, as well as to expanding the talent pool through training and upskilling programmes for its staff and the community.

According to Capgemini India CEO Ashwin Yardi, the company has provided IT training to young people through its 53 Digital Academies and trained more than 75,000 younger people in the country to date.

This construction announcement was made during Indian prime minister Narendra Modi’s two-day visit to France.

With offices in 13 Indian cities already, Capgemini currently has approximately 180,000 employees.
