BAM Construction has signed a pre-construction services agreement for the planned Bedworth Physical Activity Hub in Warwickshire, the UK.

The £24m hub includes a 25-metre, eight lane community pool, and a learner pool with a moveable floor.

There are various sports facilities including a four-court sports hall, 120 station fitness centre, and a 3G sports pitch, ‘all wheels’ skate park and learn to ride facility.

A host of other facilities are also included in Bedworth Physical Activity Hub.

The construction works will be undertaken around the present leisure centre’s operation and public activities in Miners’ Welfare Park.

The scheme will begin later in 2022 and is anticipated to be completed during 2024.

BAM Construction will provide construction, facilities management, design and property development services.

BAM is working together with the Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council’s appointed project team to design, technical details and logistics. This includes inspecting the process to attain net zero carbon de-risking the project.

The Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council has the option to enter into a building contract for the delivery of the project after completion of the pre-construction services.

BAM Construction regional director Dave Ellis said, ‘‘Creating this £24.7 million Physical Activity Hub has already established an excellent relationship with Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council. BAM has created over £600m of leisure facilities over the last five years alone which shows our strength and experience in this sector. Being a local contractor, we also understand about working closely with the communities around us to create strong social value programmes and we will use our time wisely to give something back to those around us.’

The Procure Partnerships Framework was used for the competitive procurement process.
