Balfour Beatty has secured a $79m contract from LCOR Incorporated (LCOR) to build Sage at National Landing, a luxury residential and multifamily building in Arlington, Virginia, US.

This 19-story Sage at National Landing building will have 306 luxury apartment units.

The mixed-use property will also provide 10,653ft2 of retail space on the ground floor. The retail space will include a two-story bar-and-restaurant concept.

Situated on the border of Crystal City and Pentagon City, the multifamily residential project will be delivered on the 40,000-square-foot Verizon telecommunications site at 400 11th Street South.

Furthermore, the building will be built near the newly unveiled Amazon HQ2, which is scheduled to break ground next year.

Sage at National Landing is Balfour Beatty’s second project with LCOR. The company will offer general contracting services.

The new building comes after Balfour Beatty recently completed The Altaire, a 20-story multi-family/mixed-use development and luxury apartment residence in Washinton D.C.

Currently, construction work is underway and the Balfour Beatty plans to deploy the latest technologies and lean construction methods including prefabrication of exterior wall panels and mechanical, electrical and plumbing components, and Building Information Modeling to deliver Sage at National Landing.

Architect of Sage at National Landing is SK+I Architects of Bethesda, Maryland.
Construction work is expected to be completed in early 2023.
