Balfour Beatty has been chosen as the sole contractor for both the SCAPE Civil Engineering framework and the SCAPE Scotland Civil Engineering framework.

The SCAPE Civil Engineering framework, covering England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and SCAPE Scotland Civil Engineering framework, covering the entirety of Scotland, are valued up to £3.25bn and £750m, respectively.

The two frameworks allow local authorities and other public sector bodies to commission works via a procurement process that offer a quick route to market and cover a period of four years, with an option for an extension of two years.

To deliver projects across several sectors, Balfour Beatty will continue to work with UK local authorities, government agencies and other public sector bodies, including local highways, public realm, defence and marine.

The first schemes are expected to be awarded from early next year.

Balfour Beatty was first selected for the original SCAPE National Civil Engineering and Infrastructure framework in 2015.
