The project involves the construction of a Paraxylene-Purified Terephthalic Acid (PX-PTA) plant with a production capacity of 0.8MTPA of PX and 1.2MTPA of PTA in Paradip, Odisha, India.

Construction work started in Q3 2021 and is expected to be completed in Q1 2024.

The project is part of Indian Oil Corporation’s $2.1 billion plan to build a PTA plant and ethylene glycol unit near its refinery at Paradip. The project will create 2,000 employment opportunities.
