The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 10.37% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.

Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 6.5% share in October 2022, recording an increase of 0.1% over the last three-month average share.

Top five construction companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 7.04% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s construction industry during October 2022 over September 2022.

Kier Group posted 217 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a drop of 14.9% over the previous month, followed by Arup Group with 38 jobs and a 31.03% growth. Danfoss with 23 IT jobs and Cummins with 20 jobs, recorded a 28.13% decline and a 900% growth, respectively, while AECOM recorded a decline of 17.39% with 19 job postings during October 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 68.54%, down by 18.48% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 23.69% share, registered a decline of 38.38% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.8% share, down 14.63% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.97%, recording a month-on-month increase of 150%.
