Mexico’s construction industry registered a 10.5% drop in IT hiring activity in November 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 10.33% in November 2022 when compared with October 2022.

Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 7.32% share in November 2022, recording an increase of 0.63% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Mexico’s construction industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 92.75% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico’s construction industry in November 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 30.43% in November 2022, registering a 16.67% growth over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 24.64% share, a decrease of 58.54% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 14.49%, registering a 233.33% rise from October 2022.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 14.49%, down 44.44% over the previous month.

Top five construction companies in Mexico’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 45.45% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico’s construction industry during November 2022 over October 2022.

CDM Smith posted 16 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a drop of 33.33% over the previous month, followed by General Electric with 14 jobs and a 366.67% growth. Honeywell International with 9 IT jobs and Eaton Corporation with 5 jobs, recorded an 800% growth and a 66.67% growth, respectively, while Cummins recorded an increase of 100% with 4 job postings during November 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in November 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 68.12%, up by 23.68% from October 2022. Entry Level positions with a 15.94% share, registered an increase of 22.22% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 14.49% share, down 69.7% over October 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.45%, recording a month-on-month decline of 83.33%.
