The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, Netherlands will use 125,000 sunflowers to create a labyrinth to celebrate the museum’s new entrance building, which opens to the public on 5 September.
The transparent entrance building, yet to be inaugurated, is an upgrade of the Van Gogh Museum as well as the Museum Square.

The floral labyrinth is expected to be 7,000m² and will cover nearly 50% of the Museumplein.
This flower maze will be developed in a record time of three and a half days by a professional crew.
It will be open to museum visitors on 5 and 6 September between 9am and 5pm for free, and after the two days the museum will hand out the sunflowers to the public.
The museum also intends to provide a photo deck so that visitors can take pictures of the Museumplein and Van Gogh Museum, with the maze in the background.

By GlobalDataThe 800m-long sunflower labyrinth will feature three Van Gogh inspiration chambers, which will present free performances and various displays for visitors.
While the first of the chambers will contain a collage of Van Gogh fan art, the second will show images of the construction of the new entrance.
The third room has been allocated for stage performances by singer-songwriters who have taken part in the music competition.
