Sierra Pacific Windows, a unit under US-based forest products company Sierra Pacific Industries, has planned the launch of its new architectural wall system product line in the spring of this year.

The launch has been announced following the firm’s recent acquisition of Westview Products, a leading designer and manufacturer of wall and glazed structural systems for residential and commercial properties.

The new line has been designed as an engineered or structural wall system with an extruded aluminum exterior and an all-wood interior.

It offers the benefits of customisation, and is expected to suit a variety of segments, including high-end residential, health care, religious, office, educational, hospitality, mixed-use (urban) and government developments, as well as entertainment / sporting facilities.

"Wooden interior of the new architecturally-driven product is unlike other similar market products, which is expected to lend it a unique identity."

Sierra Pacific Windows business development and customer service vice-president Bob Taylor said: "The wood wall system is a perfect complement to Sierra Pacific’s product portfolio, and fits in nicely with our distribution channels."

According to Taylor, wall system category is expected to have significant growth potential.

"It’s a niche market that’s being dramatically fueled by current design trends: expansive glass, clean straight lines, transparency between indoor and outdoor living, and architecture showcasing minimalist design with walls of glass."
