Plans designed by well-known architect Zaha Hadid for a $300m tower on Collins Street has secured approval from the Victorian government in Australia.

The 54-storey skyscraper will feature 420 apartments, more than 10,000m² of office and retail space, and over 600m² of publicspaces, including an art gallery on the ground floor. The resitential areas will be a mix of one, two, and three bedroom apartments.

The building will resemble a vase, tapering inward at the base.

"During the application process, the height of the building was reduced from 185.5m to 176m to prevent overshadowing of the Yarra’s north bank."
