Construction consultancy firm Gleeds has been selected as the project manager and cost manager for Formal Investment’s £75m city centre development in Glasgow.

Plans for the development include a 12-storey structure incorporating 130,000ft² of Grade A office space on Bath Street, as well as remodelling and refurbishment of a second building, which previously housed retailer BHS.

Improvements to a third location on Sauchiehall Street will bring the total area covered to 240,000ft².

A part of the second building will be demolished to pave way for a new build, with the remaining construction set to accomodate around 80,000ft2 of office space. Interiors will be designed to align with the contemporary exterior, giving an industrial feel with elements of exposed brickwork.

Gleeds' Glasgow director Rian Stevenson said: “I am delighted to be working with Formal Investments on yet another large-scale city centre development.

“This scheme has the potential to completely transform both commercial and public realms of this part of Glasgow and represents a fantastic opportunity for business across the board.”
