Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council in the UK has granted planning permission to Avant Homes to develop 70 homes.

Called as Brecks Lane Park, this £20.7m project on a 7.25-acre site is located just three miles east of Rotherham town centre.

The project will feature an array of three and four-bedroom homes across eight of Avant’s house designs.

Out of the 70 homes, about 25% is allocated as affordable housing, with Avant Homes also making commitment for a community contribution of more than £220,000 towards local education and transport.

Work on the project is set to begin in September.

The first homes will be ready for occupation in the spring of next year.

The project will complete in two years and is expected to generate hundreds of jobs.

Avant Homes Yorkshire managing director Alastair Hart said: “We’re very pleased that planning permission has been granted to deliver Brecks Lane Park, allowing us to bring 70 high-quality homes to Rotherham.”

Hart further added: “Rotherham is a thriving town and as we’ve seen with our previous developments in Waverley, there is a real demand for attainable, design-led homes for modern family living. We’re excited to move forward with our plans on Brecks Lane with work set to start in in September.”
