The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) of the Philippines has started construction of the Taguig City Science Terminal and Exhibit Center at the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Compound in Bicutan.
DPWH National Capital Regional director Nomer Abel P Canlas, along with officials of DOST and the local government unit of Taguig City, took part in the recently-held ground-breaking ceremony of this joint project.

Initially, this project featured construction of an integrated terminal to address the problem of traffic congestion in Bicutan; however, five years after the initial conceptualisation, an exhibit centre was added to the plan.
Following construction, this integrated terminal and science centre building will serve as the first of its kind in the Philippines, stated DPWH.
The five-storey building will be constructed in an area of 13,680m2 within DOST compound.
Three floors will be dedicated as the public transportation hub, while the upper two levels will serve as executive offices and the Science and Technology Exhibit Center.

Work on the terminal, for which $5.88m (PHP326m) has been allocated, is expected to complete by mid next year.
