
Swedish construction and civil engineering firm Peab has secured a contract for constructing stage two and three of the Grand Quarter in Larvik, Norway.
The contract, worth $18.9m (NOK167m), was awarded to the company by Grandkvartalet Eiendom.
The second and third stages of the Grand Quarter feature 50 apartments in two buildings.
The buildings will also feature commercial space and parking garage.Two floors will be linked to apartments, while the third floor will be linked to a hotel constructed in the first stage.
Additionally, the contract scope includes groundwork and landscaping.
Peab region manager Terje Kaasa Larsen said: “The first stage of the project has been really exciting and we’re glad we’ll be taking on the next ones as well. As community builders this is a very important project.

Construction works at the site are expected to begin in February next year, with completion planned in September 2023.
Peab said that it will register the Grandkvartalet Eiendom contract in the fourth quarter of this year.
In November this year, Peab was awarded a $19.78m (NOK180m) contract to build Bankløkka housing project in Horten, Norway.
