
Canadian engineering company SNC-Lavalin has been awarded a lead design contract by Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) for Six Flags Qiddiya theme park in Saudi Arabia.
Located within Qiddiya, south-west of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the new theme park will provide recreational and professional opportunities to the Saudi people.
The work under the three-year contract includes integrated lead design consultation, construction supervision, and cost management services for the project.
It will include public realm and necessary infrastructure within the plot area as well as validation of the pre-concept design, development of sustainability and environmental assessment methods, design criteria, and standards of the theme park.
Stretching across 32 hectares of land, the Six Flags Qiddiya theme park will feature 28 themed rides and attractions across six lands.
It will include The City of Thrills, Discovery Springs, Steam Town, Twilight Gardens, Valley of Fortune and Grand Exposition.

By GlobalDataSNC-Lavalin said that the theme park will feature several attractions including The Falcon’s Flight, the longest, tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world.
It also said that the park is planned to be inaugurated during the first phase of Qiddiya, which is the kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s pre-eminent entertainment, sports and cultural destination.

Last year, the company provided master plan and infrastructure engineering services for a destination-resort community in Qiddiya.
