Construction work on the $175m Chalcots Estate Renovation located in London, Greater London, the UK commenced in Q4 2022. It was announced in Q4 2016.
The project involves the renovation of a 30,000m2 facade area, a 23-story residential complex comprising 161 flats in four blocks on 1.27ha of land in Greater London, the UK.
The project includes the following:
1. Construction of recladding works and replacement of previous cladding systems
2. Replacement of full windows
3. Renewal of flat roofs
4. Replacement of brickwork on the ground and first floor levels, including vents, louvers, and canopies
5. Insulation to the undercroft
6. Installation of building maintenance units (BMU)
7. Installation of radiators, and the relevant power supplies to BMUs and louvers
Construction on the project, spread across 1 hectares, is expected to be completed by Q4 2024.
the UK-based Arup Facade Engineering is the architect and engineering design consultant for the Chalcots Estate Renovation, while London Borough of Camden is the planning authority.
