
McShane Construction Company has announced the completion of construction of a senior living residence, named The Oaks at Algonquin, in Illinois, US.
The company was appointed by Spectrum Retirement Communities to provide comprehensive construction services for the building, for which Vessel Architecture provided architectural services.
Located Northwest of Downtown Chicago, the 166-unit, which is an H-shaped building, accommodates assisted living, independent living, and memory care units.
The assisted living units development feature a kitchenette with a refrigerator and microwave, and the independent living units feature a complete kitchen.
The three-storey building includes an array of amenities for tenants that include a health club, a salon, a community centre with a demo kitchen, and media lounge.
It also includes three restaurants, a pub, a theatre, and doctor and therapist offices.

By GlobalDataThe project has outdoor living spaces including a memory care garden, a rooftop deck and fire pit, a dining patio, grill area, and well-landscaped courtyards.
McShane Construction Company vice-president Jason Breden said: “The Oaks at Algonquin is a beautiful community that offers continuing care options and best-in-class amenities.
“From the garden, to the movie theatre, to the sky deck, the development has something for all of its residents to enjoy.”
The company stated that The Oaks at Algonquin features wood frame construction with a stone veneer, an exterior of masonry shake and panel siding, and architectural shingles.
In April this year, McShane Construction Company secured a contract from Roers Companies to provide design-assist construction services for The Wildwood at Main in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, US.
The housing development will offer 172 units.
