Construction on a new Richmond-based 105-acre mixed-use community project in Virginia, US, is set to start in the next few months.
Known as The Lake, the proposed project is moving ahead after the receipt of relevant permits and is well on-track for development.

Located at 3,400 Genito Road in Richmond, Virginia, The Lake will feature 150,000ft² of retail and entertainment space, 100,000ft² of office space and a 170-room hotel.
It will also include more than 1,000 apartments and new townhomes. Intended to become a destination for entertainment, recreation, business, hospitality and residency, The Lake expects to host over 200 events a year.
The project will be built in phases, with Flatwater Companies from Chesterfield County, Virginia, serving as the developer.
Under the project’s first phase, the developer has partnered with wave technology company American Wave Machines (AWM) for the PerfectSwell surf park.

PerfectSwell Richmond is expected to be constructed by late 2021.
